【夏日必學】一時忘記補防曬就曬傷了

認識曬傷三個級別
夏日驕陽似火,進行戶外活動或工作都難免接觸到陽光,沒有適當防護的皮膚過度曝露在陽光下就有機會曬傷。曬傷可以分為輕度、中度及重度三個級別,輕度曬傷的話可以自行處理,但如果屬於中度及重度曬傷,宜立即就醫治理,來了解三個曬傷級別的不同症狀。

輕度曬傷
症狀:皮膚發紅、發熱,觸摸皮膚時只感到發熱而不疼痛。
處理方法:躲到陰涼處,盡快為皮膚降溫,可以冷敷或浸冷水浴。

中度曬傷
症狀:皮膚發紅、劇痛、起水泡。
處理方法:躲到陰涼處,立即就醫治理。

重度曬傷
症狀:皮膚紅腫、劇痛、起水泡、脫皮、滲水,甚至出現發燒、噁心、嘔吐等症狀。
處理方法:躲到陰涼處,立即就醫治理。

曬傷後皮膚紅、腫、熱、痛的反應一般會立即或在曬後3-4小時出現,並在曬後12-24小時達到高峰,曬傷受損的表皮會脫落,可能會感到痕癢或輕微疼痛,要忍手別亂抓。如果中度曬傷起水泡,亦切勿戳破水泡,避免細菌感染。曬傷後除了護理皮膚,亦要注意補充水份,多喝水能緩解曝曬後的不適症狀。

Understanding the three degrees of sunburn
Summer’s sun is fiery, and it cannot be avoided when we carry out outdoor duties and activities. There is a possibility we might get sunburn if we do not protect our skin from the exposure.

Sunburn can be classified into three degrees: mild, moderate and severe. We should be able to treat mild sunburn on our own, but in the case of moderate and severe sunburn, we will need to seek medical attention. Now let’s understand the different symptoms of these three degrees of sunburn.

Mild sunburn
Symptoms: Skin redness, feverish, feels hot but not painful when the skin is touched
Solution: Rest in a shady place to cool down the body; can also place cool objects around the body, or take a cool shower

Moderate sunburn
Symptoms: Skin redness, severe pain, blisters developed
Solution: Rest at a shady place, and seek immediate medical treatment

Severe sunburn
Symptoms: Skin redness, severe pain, blisters developed, peeling skin, leakage of fluid on skin (lymphedema), fever, nausea and vomiting
Solution: Rest at a shady place, and seek immediate medical treatment

Red, swollen, pain and with a burning sensation – These reactions will develop on the skin between 3 to 4 hours after a sunburn, and will be in the most unbearable state for next 12 to 24 hours.

The damaged skin layer will peel off, and the person will feel itchy with a mild pain during the process. It is important not to scratch the affected area. You should avoid puncturing blisters caused by moderate sunburn to prevent infection. Other than taking care of the skin after getting a sunburn, we should make sure we hydrate our body by drinking water, to alleviate the said symptoms.
