當造春筍清熱消痰
「吃筍?」「好毒喎!」這是很多人對吃筍的反應,春天來到,鮮嫰春筍上市,不少人認為竹筍好毒,見到筍就避之則吉,筍真的有害無益嗎?根據中醫理論,竹筍性涼,具清熱化痰、利二便功效,所以如果身體偏熱,或者有風熱感冒或肺熱咳嗽,就有清熱消痰功效;而由於筍含豐富纖維,所以具通便效果。惟注意竹筍屬動風發物,容易透發或加重皮膚瘡瘍腫毒症狀,皮膚敏感、濕疹患者或容易出風癩者不宜吃。

春筍 — 性涼味甘,具清熱化痰、利二便功效,適合風熱感冒或肺熱咳嗽、痰多色黃者食用,亦適合發熱口渴、小便不利、習慣性便秘者食用。脾胃虛寒及痛風患者不宜食用。

萵筍蘆筍不是筍
不少人誤會萵筍和露筍是竹筍的一種,並不是啊!

萵筍-油麥菜和萵筍長於同一棵植物,菜葉部份為油麥菜,摘掉油麥菜後剩下的莖部就是萵筍了,萵筍(又稱萵苣)性涼,具通乳汁、消水腫功效,脾胃虛寒者不宜食用。

蘆筍-屬百合科,與韭、蔥、蒜為表兄弟,蘆筍性涼,具補虛,抗癌及減肥作用,適合體質虛弱、氣血不足、貧血、肥胖、習慣性便秘者食用。惟蘆筍含高嘌呤,痛風患者不宜食用。

Bamboo shoots are in season during spring but maybe people avoid it thinking it is high in toxin. Is bamboo shoot truly not good for you? According to Chinese medicine theory, bamboo shoot is cool in nature, can clear heat and relieve phlegm, healthy for urine and bowel movement. It is healthy for those with heat related body types or those with wind heat or cough with heat in lungs as it can clear heat and relieve phlegm. The high fibre content can relieve constipation. Please note bamboo shoot is a wind activated stimulant and can trigger skin sores issues so those skin allergy, eczema, and those prone to hives should avoid.

Bamboo shoots- cool in nature, can clear heat and relieve phlegm and is healthy for urine and bowel movement. Suitable for those with wind heat or cough with heat in lungs, yellowish phlegm, as well as those with heat and thirst, difficulty urinating, and chronic constipation. It is not suitable for those with asthenic cold spleen and stomach and those with gout.
