因為工作關係需要應酬且煙酒過多,酒乃濕熱之物,過度飲用容易令體內聚濕、生痰、化熱,再吃下肥甘厚味食物,令體質傾向濕熱,脾氣容易變得暴躁。而且長期熬夜容易出現陰虛火旺的症狀,例如口乾、嘴唇乾燥、聲音沙啞等,平日飲食要注意滋陰清熱祛濕,飲用加入冬瓜、生薏米、綠豆、土茯苓、粉葛等有清熱祛濕功效食材的湯水,或者沖泡一杯羅漢果茶或葛花菊花茶,羅漢果適合熬夜、煙酒過多而導致的喉嚨痛、扁桃腺發炎、失聲及便秘等症狀;葛花清熱解酒,菊花亦能清熱解毒,都適合體質有偏熱症狀人士飲用。

葛花菊花茶
功效:清熱解酒,紓緩酒後目赤口渴、頭痛欲吐、因晚睡引致的肝火上炎等症狀。
材料:葛花、菊花各少許
做法:材料洗淨放保溫瓶,以熱開水沖洗一遍,注入熱開水焗約5-8分鐘即可。此茶可反覆沖泡至味淡。
注意:此茶寒涼,身體無偏熱症狀者不宜飲用。

Managing excessive social engagements and clearing heat

Due to work demands, frequent social engagements and excessive consumption of tobacco and alcohol are often necessary. Alcohol, in particular, is known to induce damp-heat in the body, phlegm production, and caused heat to accumulate in the body. When combined with the consumption of greasy and rich foods, it can make the body more susceptible to damp-heat,in irritability and restlessness.
Moreover, prolonged periods of staying up late can give rise to symptoms of yin deficiency and excessive internal heat, such as dry mouth, parched lips, and hoarse voice. In daily dietary habits, it is essential to focus on nourishing the yin, clearing heat, and eliminating dampness.

Consuming soups made with ingredients known for their heat-clearing and dampness-eliminating properties, such as winter melon, raw coix seed, mung beans, Smilax glabra, and kudzu root, can be highly beneficial.
Another option is to prepare a cup of monk fruit tea or pueraria lobata chrysanthemum tea. Monk fruit is particularly suitable for relieving symptoms such as sore throat, inflamed tonsils, hoarseness, and constipation that may arise from staying up late or excessive tobacco and alcohol consumption.
Pueraria lobata clears heat and relieves alcohol intoxication, while chrysanthemum also has heat-clearing and detoxifying properties. Both are suitable for individuals with symptoms of excessive internal heat.

Pueraria lobata chrysanthemum tea
Effects: Clears heat and alleviates hangover. Relieves redness in eyes, thirst and headache after drinking, and clear liver heat caused by sleeping late.
Ingredients: Small amounts of Pueraria lobata, chrysanthemum
Preparation: Place all ingredients into thermos and rinse with hot water once. Add in hot water and steep for 5-8 minutes. This tea can be re-browed until flavour weakens.
Note: Since the tea is cold in nature, not suitable for those without heat-related symptoms.
