Fail safe beauty soup that moistens the lungs
Have you, as a man, tried making soup for your significant other? From buying and preparing ingredients, to seasoning the soup – a pot of soup is not just about the taste and its nutrition, but also a way for your partner to feel your love and care.
Making soup is actually not difficult. Since women love to stay pretty at all times, why not make a soup that can improve their skin? According to Chinese Medicine, ‘the lungs govern the skin and hair’, the lungs’ health will affect our skin condition. Therefore, soup that moistens the lungs will help improve the skin’s complexion.
Snow fungus nourishes the yin and moistens the lungs, strengthens the qi and the stomach; Lily replenishes qi, moistens the lungs and relieves cough; these ingredients can be used with papaya, which strengthens the spleen and stomach, to make a tasty soup. Either a ripe or green papaya is fine, but the former can increase sweetness.
Tips for soup to nourish lungs and skin:
Appropriately add in ingredients such as glehnia root, radix ophiopogonis, dried conch etc.
Lotus seed and lily bulb soup with snow fungus
Effects: nourishes yin and moisten lungs, nourishes heart and strengthens spleen. Suitable for dry skin and yellowish complexion.
Ingredient: 2 carrots, 2 corns, 2 pears, 1 snow fungus, 20g lotus seed, 20 lily bulb, 3 candied dates
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Soak snow fungus for half a day, cut off black bottom and cut into small pieces. Peel carrots and cut into pieces. Peel and core pears and cut into pieces. Peel corn and cut into pieces.
2. Combine all ingredients with 2500ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 1.5 hour. Add salt to taste.
