擺脫顯老法令紋
何太:「最近發現法令紋越來越深,感覺很顯老,有辦法改善嗎?」

CheckCheckCin:法令紋是指鼻翼旁邊延伸到嘴角上的兩道紋路,隨著年紀增長,皮膚組織老化,這兩道坑紋會漸漸加深。而除了年齡因素,脾胃不好的人法令紋都會形成得比較早,因為中醫理論認為「脾主肌肉」,肌肉彈性不足,法令紋便容易顯露。要完全消滅法令紋幾乎不可能,但還是可以淡化或者延緩它的出現,首要做的是養好脾胃,每日飲一杯米水,少吃生冷及甜食,適量食用有健脾功效的食材,例如薯仔、淮山、蓮子、芡實、黃豆等,亦可以每日做兩至三次面部運動,有助面部肌肉氣血循環。

撫平法令紋運動:
1. 緊閉嘴唇,令嘴內填滿空氣,雙頰鼓起來像青蛙一樣,維持5秒。
2. 將嘴內空氣集中推向右面頰,維持5秒,然後到左面頰,維持5秒。
3. 接著到上唇鼓起,維持5秒,然後到下唇,維持5秒。

Getting rid of the laugh lines
“I realized my laugh lines are getting more and more obvious, and they make me look older. Are there ways to improve this condition?”

CheckCheckCin: Laugh lines are nasolabial folds, or ‘fa ling wen’ in Mandarin, refers to the indentation lines on either side of the mouth, which extends from the edge of the nose to the mouth’s outer corners.

As we age, the soft tissues on our skin deteriorate, and this would deepen the nasolabial folds. Beside the age factor, having a weak spleen and stomach would also accelerate the formation of nasolabial folds.

According to the Chinese Medicine theories, ‘spleen rules the muscles’, therefore the lack of elasticity in the muscles would cause the nasolabial folds to be more apparent. It is almost impossible to get rid of nasolabial folds completely, but we can reduce the folds or delay its formation.

Firstly, nourish the spleen and the stomach. Drink a cup of rice water daily, and cut down on raw, cold and sweet food. Consume ingredients that can strengthen the spleen, such as potato, Chinese yam, lotus seed, gorgon fruit and soybean. Next, you can carry out facial exercise two to three times a day, as it would help improve the circulation of the blood and qi in the facial muscles.

Exercise to reduce the nasolabial folds:
1. Pressed your lips together tightly, fill the oral cavity with air, and puff the cheeks like a frog. Hold it for 5 seconds.
2. Direct the air in the mouth to the right side of the cheek and hold it for 5 seconds. Repeat the process by moving the air to the left cheek, and hold it for 5 seconds.

3. Move the air and fill the space on the upper lip, hold it for 5 seconds. Repeat the process by moving the air to the lower lip, and hold it for 5 seconds.
