清熱湯水防熱痱
熱痱是小朋友夏天常見的皮膚問題,小朋友新陳代謝快,又喜歡四處活動,出汗自然多,如果未有即時擦乾汗水,皮膚便容易過敏、痕癢,甚至長出熱痱,熱痱又稱汗疹,外形為針頭般大的紅色小水疱,多出現在皮膚皺褶部位,例如後頸、手肘窩、膝蓋背、大脾內則等等,如果處理不當會發展成毛囊炎。所以在夏天不妨讓小朋友適量飲用有清熱祛濕功效的湯水,有助消暑散熱,預防熱症、熱痱的出現。小朋友出汗後宜立即擦乾汗水,平日勤於更換衣物,都有助防止熱痱。

食材小貼士:
霸王花性寒,具有清心潤肺、清暑解熱、除痰止咳的功效。

霸王花紅蘿蔔西瓜皮湯
功效:清熱祛濕,紓緩眼垢多、口臭、臭狐、皮膚痕癢、渴睡等症狀。
材料:新鮮霸王花1-2朵、紅蘿蔔1根、西瓜皮300克、蓮子20克、芡實20克、蜜棗2枚
做法:
1. 所有材料洗淨,新鮮霸王花用水泡洗乾淨後切段;西瓜皮把最外面綠色皮切走,只留下白色部份切塊備用。
2. 鍋中加入2000毫升水,放入全部材料、武火煮至水滾,調文火煮1小時,最後下鹽調味即可。
注意:脾胃虛弱人士不宜飲用。

Soup to prevent heat rash
Heat rash is a skin problem that many children suffer from during summer. Children’s metabolism is high, and they tend to sweat a lot because they are active. If they do not wipe off their sweat in time, their skin might itch and become sensitive, and develop a heat rash.

Heat rash, are red bumps that develop on the skin. These bumps usually appear in the creases of skin such as the back of the neck, elbows, armpits, and inner thighs. In more severe cases, heat rash might even cause folliculitis.

To prevent the little ones from developing heat rash during summer, try having soup that can clear heat and dispel dampness from the body. Also, make sure to wipe the sweat off their body and help them change into fresh clothes more diligently.

Tips on ingredient:
Night-blooming cereus is cold in nature, with the effect of clearing the heart and moistening lungs, clearing phlegm and relieving cough.

Night-blooming cereus and carrot soup with watermelon skin
Effects: clears heat and dispels dampness. Suitable for frequent eye discharge, bad breath, smelly armpit, itchy skin and lethargy.
Ingredients: 1-2 fresh night-blooming cereus, 1 carrot, 300g watermelon skin, 20g lotus seed, 20g fox nut, 2 candied dates
Preparation:
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Soak night-blooming cereus and clean well and cut into pieces. Remove the outer green layer of watermelon skin and keep the white section only and cut into pieces. Cut the peeled carrot into pieces.
2. Combine all ingredients with 2000ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 1 hour. Add salt to taste.
Note: not suitable for those with asthenic weak spleen and stomach.
