鮮淮山及乾淮山功效相若。淮山又稱山藥,性平,都能健脾養胃,補肺生津。感冒未清者及便秘人士不宜多吃。購買乾淮山時要注意,盡量選購帶天然淡黃色以及紋路的,過分雪白平滑的有可能是在製作時被加工,另外亦可聞聞看有沒有刺鼻的味道。
另外還有紫淮山- 又稱紫玉山藥,性溫,和一般山藥一樣有健脾養胃的功效,但由於顏色帶紫,花青素豐富,補腎的功效更卓越,亦對皮膚抗氧化有更強的作用。

There’s also a kind of purple wild yam, which is warm in nature and is similar to regular wild yam but with the added effect to replenish the kidneys and is also stronger in anti-oxidation effects on the skin.
