Yellow fungus soup moistens the lungs to combat autumn dryness
It is easy to feel autumn dryness during this seasonal change, and our skin will begin to feel tight and dry. Besides putting on lotion, we need to regulate our body by drinking soup that will nourish the yin and moisten the lungs, to increase our body fluid.
Nourishing soups with moistening property normally involve snow fungus. Comparatively, yellow fungus, which is thicker in nature, is even more beneficial in nourishing the stomach and spleen, in addition to having the same moistening quality. It is especially suitable for individuals with yin, blood, and yang deficiency.
Dried yellow fungus, which has folded lobes that look like a little brain, needs to be washed and soaked in water for a few hours to soften prior to cooking. A small-sized yellow fungus can expand several times from its original size. Yellow fungus, which carries a mild sweet osmanthus fragrance, is also a suitable ingredient for sweet soup or dessert.
Tips for soup to nourish yin and relieve dryness
Appropriately add in ingredients such as glehnia root, polygonatum root, radix ophiopogonis and wolfberry etc.
