Get beautiful hair with soup that replenishes the kidneys
As you flip through old photos, you may realize your mom used to have beautiful, black and shiny head of hair. As people age, kidney qi weakens, and many people will experience gray hairs or loss of hair. Chinese medicine believes kidney health is reflected in hair quality. Kidneys are the basis of life. Healthy hair relies on sufficient kidney qi that can bring necessary nutrients to the scalp. Note that this soup is not suitable for hair loss caused by damp heat body type.
Tips for soups to replenish the kidney:
Appropriately add in black ingredients such as black sesame, black fungus, black glutinous rice, black dates, black beans and black chicken.
Black soya bean vegetarian soup with carrot and lotus root
Effect: Nourishes the liver and kidneys, improves hair quality. Suitable for those with excessive white hair, aversion to cold, back pain, or tinnitus.
Ingredients: 1 carrot, 1 lotus root (about 2 to 3 segments), 1/4 cup of black glutinous rice, 30g black soya beans, 30g cashews, 15g wolfberries, 2 candied dates
1. Rinse all ingredients. Peel carrot and lotus root and cut into pieces. Stir fry black beans and cashews without oil in wok until fragrance develops.
2. Combine ingredients with 2500ml of water and cook on high heat until boiling. Then switch to low heat and simmer for 1 additional hour and add salt to taste.
Not suitable for those with heat-related symptoms or those recovering from a cold or flu.
