What’s a good pot of soup?
Urbanites have regular battles in their jobs and sometimes it just takes a nice bowl of soup to calm the mind and nourish the body. We have always promoted vegetarian soups for wellness as they are lower in calorie count and can help to balance the regularly meat heavy diets. Cantonese people traditionally have meat soups so a lot of people would ask if a vegetarian soup has enough nutrients. Vegetables has all kinds of nutrients and when combined with the appropriate medicinal herbs, then it can further strengthen the benefits of the soup. At the end of the day, it is important to eat according to your body constitution, and whether it is vegetarian or not is secondary. For people who regularly eat heavy meals, the occasional bowl of vegetarian soup would be quite nourishing. If you are still worried that vegetarian soups are not nutritious enough, then try adding in protein-based nuts or soy products to further enhance.
