Spring Equinox Solar Term
On Spring Equinox, day and night both have 12 hours and it is important to keep yin and yang balanced in the body. Humidity continue to increase and dampness pathogen can make people feel quite tired with poor appetite. Have more ingredients that can dispel dampness such as coix seeds, corn silk, Chinese yam, dried citrus peel, and rice beans. Have rice water daily to use as your internal dehumidifier. Spring fatigue is caused by insufficient yang qi and humidity so try to go outdoors to absorb yang qi and seat out the dampness in your body.
Spring time is a season suitable to nourish the liver and replenish blood. Drinking alcohol can hurt your liver, so switch to rice water instead! Green food helps the liver so have more green vegetables to nourish the liver, and avoid sour flavoured food to avoid overactive liver fire.
– Have food that will increase yang qi such as pumpkin, cilantro, onion, chives
– Have a cup of floral tea to relieve liver stagnation and keep a happy mood
– use dehumidifier appropriately to keep the indoor climate dry and keep your clothes from smelling wet
