Smilax soup to relieve itchy skin
As spring is here, heat pathogen coupled with dampness pathogen can lead to issues with the skin, and it can be especially miserable for those suffering from eczema. Smilax soup can help to alleviate these symptoms as smilax can detoxify and dispel dampness, improve joint movement. There are dried and fresh smilax, and healing effects of fresh one is more obvious. Once you have peeled fresh smilax, it can oxidate quickly so use it as soon as possible.
Tips to soup to clear heat and dispel dampness:
Appropriately add in ingredients such as corn silk, lotus leaf, coix seed, winter melon and water melon peel.
Water chestnut soup with kudzu and smilax
Effects: clears heat and dispels dampness, cools blood and relieves itch. Alleviates itch induced by skin allergies or eczema.
Ingredients: 1 kudzu, 300g fresh smilax (about half catty), 40g rice beans, 4-6 water chestnut, 2 candied dates
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Peel kudzu and smilax and cut into pieces.
2. Combine all ingredients with 2500ml of water and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 2 hours. Add salt to taste.
Note: not suitable for those with asthenic weak spleen and stomach, those prone to diarrhea and those who are pregnant.
