Excessive sweating of the head – damp heat episode
Some people are always a head full of sweat but, looking further, they are not sweating elsewhere on the body. Chinese medicine calls this ‘head sweat’. This type of people will sweat profusely with little exercise, and the sweating happens mainly at the forehead, nose, lips and neck. The head is where all the yang meridians meet, so head sweat is usually an issue with yang meridian. The main cause is stress and heat that cannot be properly processed, and liver yang becomes hyperactive and flows upwards through the yang meridian, which causes head sweat. Aside from this, people who are lacking in yang qi or with qi deficiency will also experience head sweat or increased sweating in the face.
