Eating pork congee with century egg can help to clear out excessive heat?
People always say pork and century egg is a heat clearing congee, and the reason is the century egg. Traditional century egg is made by preserving duck egg in a mixture of ash and salt. It is cold in nature so it can clear heat, and relieve symptoms such as canker sores, sore throat, bad breath, and dry skin. However, century eggs are still a preserved product so we don’t recommend eating it too frequently. Duck egg is also a stimulating food so it is not suitable for those with skin conditions and acne. Century eggs are not suitable for those with weak stomach and spleen, stomach bloating and frequent diarrhea.
