Soup to relieve bad breath
Ever have the person next to yawn on a public transport and a funny smell comes along that you need to cover your nose? People in the city have high pressure and poor dietary habits and it can affect the spleen and stomach, leading to indigestion. Bad breath will sneakily come along as well. This would be a good time to have soup that can promote qi circulation and relieve indigestion. It can help to relieve stress related qi stagnation and improve your bad breath!
Rice sprouts and malt soup with cantaloupe
Ingredients: half a cantaloupe, 20g rice sprouts, 20g malt, 6 water chestnuts, 1 dried citrus peel, 2 figs
Preparation: Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Seed and peel cantaloupe and cut into pieces. Peel water chestnut and cut into pieces. Combine all ingredients with 2500ml of water and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 1 hour. Add salt to taste.
Effects: promotes qi circulation and relieves indigestion. Alleviates poor diet related bad breath, indigestion, abdominal bloating and discomfort.
Note: Malt can aid with weaning and is not suitable for those who are breastfeeding.
