「白露」為何有這個稱謂?初秋的白晝氣溫尚暖,太陽下山後,氣溫下降速度非常快,空氣的水氣遇冷,便會凝結成細小水滴,依附在花草植物之上。白露節氣,氣候開始帶絲絲乾燥,飲食還是要配合體質,再以「甘寒潤燥」為原則,適量進食潤肺生津、養陰潤燥的食物,例如蓮子、百合、雪耳、梨子、芝麻、蜂蜜、枇杷等。但身體濕重人士還是以健脾胃為先。

White Dew Solar Term
What does the term white dew mean? Day time during early fall is still quite warm but the temperature drops quickly after sun down. As the moisture in air hit the cold, little drops form on plants. During white dew, the weather starts to become dry and your diet should complement your body accordingly. To relieve dryness, consume ingredients to nourish yin, these include: lotus seeds, lily bulbs, snow fungus, pear, sesame, honey, loquat leaves. Those with dampness should focus on strengthening the spleen and stomach.

Gentle reminders:
– have a cup of rice water when you wake up to energize your body
– strengthen the spleen and stomach first then appropriately prevent fall dryness
– make some home made lip balm as gifts
– bring a coat out
– time to pack away those tanks and shorts
