Diets to regulate menstruation
Many ladies will pay special attention to diet during the menstrual period, fine-tuning daily diet and lifestyle habits can also regulate menstruation, be sure to avoid cold/raw food one week before menstruation. Those prone to anxiety can drink scented floral tea such as rose and jasmine. The principle of regulating menstruation is same as nourishing body. If ladies with heat-related symptoms eat more replenishing ingredients such as Chinese red dates, longan, ginger tea to nourish qi and blood before and after menstruation period, they are actually adding heat into the body. It may worsen the heat-like symptoms such as sore throat, pimple or even sensitive skin. We have provided two common regulating menstruation diet plans for those with cold or heat-related body conditions respectively. This can regulate menstruation and not cause other symptoms. (People with heat-related body condition!) / Suitable for ladies with heat-related symptoms such as dry mouth, canker sores, pimple, constipation to regulate menstruation
Motherwort- slightly cold in nature and bitter in taste, can clear heat, dispel dampness, activate blood and regulate menstruation. It is especially suitable for those with qi stagnation and blood stasis related menstrual discomfort such as busy, nervous, abdominal pain, edema, and menstrual blood clots, etc.
Let’s eat motherwort and boil eggs!
Ingredients: 20g motherwort, 2 eggs, appropriate amounts of rock sugar
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Cut motherwort into pieces and place into soup bag.
2. Combine all ingredients with appropriate amount of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling and cook for about 5 minutes. Take out the eggs and remove the shell. Put eggs into pot and simmer for 1 hour. Add rock sugar to taste.
Note: Those with cold/flu and asthenic qi and blood should not drink.
(People with cold-related body condition!) / Suitable for ladies with cold-related symptoms such as aversion to cold, cold limbs, pale complexion and lip colour to regulate menstruation:
Si wu tang- can replenish blood and regulate menstruation, suitable for those with asthenic qi and blood related menstrual discomfort such menstrual discomfort, low blood volume, dizziness, menstrual pain.
Let’s eat Si wu tang!
Ingredients: 10g processed rehmannia root , 10g white peony root, 10g angelica root, 10g Chuanxiong ligusticum, amounts of rock sugar or brown sugar
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly.
2. Combine all ingredients with 1000ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 40 minutes. Add rock sugar or brown sugar to taste.
Note: Those with cold/flu, hot-related body condition and pregnant women should not drink.
