曾經認識有朋友在名酒品牌工作,每晚飲酒應酬已經是工作的一部分,有時候喝得太多,隔天的宿醉更令他叫苦連天。當然,不是鼓勵大家飲酒,偶爾淺酌一杯當然無大礙,中醫典籍記載,酒屬性偏熱,可行氣活血,也有驅寒的作用, 但是當飲酒過度容易於體內聚濕、生痰、化熱,影響肝的正常運作。都市人大多生活繁忙、脾氣暴躁、性急、習慣晚睡、偏好重口味的食物,這類人的體質因而傾向熱性,若加上酒的熱,就如火上加油。

1. 所有材料洗淨,粉葛、紅蘿蔔、薯仔去皮切塊備用。
2. 鍋中加入約2500毫升水,放入全部材料,武火煮至水滾,調文火煮約1小時,最後下鹽調味即可。

Friday Soup Series- Soup to relieve hangover
We are not here to encourage alcohol drinking, but have an occasional drink is not a big deal either. Chinese medicine says that alcohol is hot in nature, they can promote qi and blood circulation and dispel cold. But when you consume too much alcohol, it can lead to dampness retention which causes phlegm and heat and negative effects on liver functions. A lot of urbanites have very busy lifestyle, sometimes are even irritable and impatient. They have frequent late nights, prefer strong flavored foods. Overall, they tend to have heat-related symptoms, and when combined with alcohol, it’s like adding fuel to the fire.
Kudzu Root Soup with Carrots and Mung Beans
Ingredients: 1 kudzu root, 2 carrots, 2 potatoes, 40g mung beans, 2 candied dates
Preparation method:
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Peel kudzu root, carrots, and potatoes and cut into pieces.
2. Combine ingredients with 2500 ml of water in a pot, and place over high heat until the water boils. Switch to low heat and simmer for an additional hour. Add salt to taste.
Effects: Clears heat and promotes diuresis. Relieves hangover symptoms such as tired limbs, sore back and lack of appetite.
