【養生迷思】單純感冒是小病但亂吃東西變大病

三種紓緩感冒茶飲
阿呆:「前兩天感冒時經過茶飲店,買了杯熱薑奶茶暖胃驅寒,希望對病情有幫助,結果卻肚瀉了。」

CheckCheckCin:不少人看到「熱」、「薑」等字眼就覺得有助紓緩感冒,都是美麗的誤會啊!因為常見的感冒分為風熱型、風寒型、風濕型,屬性溫熱的薑只適合風寒型人士食用,如果患上風熱型感冒,症狀為發燒、喉嚨痛、咳嗽有痰、口乾等,吃薑只會火上加油。而且牛奶屬滋膩食物,不易消化,會加重脾胃負擔,不適宜感冒時飲用。
感冒期間宜多喝水或米水,如果想飲用有助紓緩病情的茶飲,記得要先分清感冒類型然後作出精明選擇。

風熱型感冒
症狀:喉嚨乾痛、痰色/鼻涕色白黃、口渴
適合茶飲:金銀花連翹茶
材料:連翹9克、金銀花9克、薄荷3克
做法:材料洗淨,將連翹、金銀花加水煮15分鐘,加入薄荷,多煮5分鐘,倒入保溫瓶反覆沖泡飲用。

風寒型感冒
症狀:喉嚨痕、痰色白、鼻塞、流鼻水
適合茶飲:防風薑茶
材料:荊芥9克、防風12克、薑4片
做法:材料洗淨,加水煮15分鐘,倒入保溫瓶反覆沖泡飲用。

風濕型感冒
症狀:頭重重、全身困重無力、關節痠軟、上吐下瀉
適合茶飲:藿香紫蘇茶
材料:藿香12克、紫蘇葉9克
做法:材料洗淨,加水煮15分鐘,倒入保溫瓶反覆沖泡飲用。

3 teas to relieve cold symptoms 
“I caught a cold so I bought a hot ginger milk tea to warm my stomach and dispel cold. It did not help and I had diarrhea.”

CheckCheckCin: Many people think the words “hot” and “ginger” are helpful to alleviate a cold. This is a misconception! Colds are classified into hot-wind type, cold-wind type, and damp-wind type. Ginger is hot in nature so it is only suitable for those with cold-wind type cold. If you have a hot-wind type cold, the symptoms are fever, sore throat, cough with phlegm, dry mouth. Eating ginger will only worsen your symptoms. Furthermore, milk is a greasy ingredient, it is not easy to digest and can increase the burden on the spleen and stomach, so it is not suitable for drinking when you have a cold.
We suggest drinking plenty of water or rice water during a cold. If you want to drink tea that can help relieve the symptoms, remember to distinguish the type of cold you have and then make a smart choice.

Hot-wind type:
Symptoms: dry and sore throat, yellowish phlegm and mucus, excessive thirst
Suitable tea: honeysuckle tea with forsythia
Ingredients:9g forsythia, 9g honeysuckle, 3g mint
Preparation: rinse all ingredients, combine forsythia and honeysuckle with water and cook for 15 minutes. Add mint and cook for 5 more minutes. Pour all contents into a thermos and tea can be re-brewed.

Cold-wind type:
Symptoms: itchy throat, clear phlegm, stuffed nose, runny nose
Suitable tea: Ginger tea with fangfeng
Ingredients: 9g nepeta, 12g fangfeng, 4 slices ginger
Preparation: rinse all ingredients, combine all ingredients with water and cook for 15 minutes. Pour all contents into a thermos and tea can be re-brewed.

Damp-wind type
Symptoms: heavy-headedness, fatigue, joint soreness, vomiting, diarrhea
Suitable tea: purple perilla tea with patchouli
Ingredients: 12g patchouli, 9g purple perilla
Preparation: rinse all ingredients, combine all ingredients with water and cook for 15 minutes. Pour all contents into a thermos and tea can be re-brewed.
