【吃對食物好疏肝】

中醫理論認為壓力大的人會出現肝鬱氣滯的情況,因為肝主疏泄、調節情志,如果肝功能失調導致肝鬱,就會令情緒鬱悶,出現頭痛、多嘆氣、多打嗝或放屁、胃痛、大便不調、失眠等氣滯體質的症狀。除了進行減壓活動,亦可注意日常飲食,適量進食有疏肝理氣、安神解鬱功效的食材,有助氣血運行,改善肝鬱氣滯的情況。同時避免進食辛辣食物,因為辛辣會抑制肝臟功能,令經脈不能保持暢通。

⭕宜吃疏肝理氣、安神解鬱的食材:
白蘿蔔、蓮藕、絲瓜、佛手瓜、猴頭菇、茨實、蓮子、百合、陳皮、金桔、五指毛桃、佛手、玫瑰花、茉莉花、洋甘菊

❌忌吃辛辣食材:
薑、蔥、蒜頭、辣椒、花椒、咖喱

玫瑰花佛手花茶
功效:疏肝解鬱,紓緩多嘆氣、胃部易脹氣不適及心情鬱悶等症狀。
材料:玫瑰花、佛手花、蜂蜜各少許
做法:將玫瑰花、佛手花放入保溫瓶,注入熱開水沖洗一遍,再注入熱開水焗5分鐘,待水變暖後加入蜂蜜拌勻即可。此茶可沖泡3至4次至味淡。一星期可以連續服用3天。

Stress relieving ingredients

Chinese Medicine believes individuals with a high level of stress would cause the liver to develop depression and qi to stagnate. This is because the liver governs the discharge function of the body and regulates the emotions.

A liver that fails to function optimally can cause the internal organ to develop depression, hence causing the individual to become emotional and develop symptoms like headache, frequent sighing, burping, flatulence, stomach ache, irregular bowel movement, and insomnia. These symptoms are all related to the stagnation of the qi.

Besides carrying out activities to relieve stress, we should watch our diet by consuming an appropriate amount of food to soothe the liver and qi and ingredients that can calm the mind. Eating the right foods can improve the circulation of the qi and blood, relieve the depression in liver, and clear the stagnation of qi in the body. Avoid consuming hot and spicy food, as spicy food can inhibit the functions of the liver and the circulation of the Meridian.

⭕ Ingredients to consume to soothe the liver, improve the circulation of the qi, calm the mind, and relieve depression:
white radish, lotus root, luffa, chayote, monkey head mushroom, fox nut, lotus seed, lily bulb, citrus peel, kumquat, hairy fig root, fingered citron, rose, jasmine, chamomile

❌ Spicy ingredients to avoid:
ginger, spring onion, garlic, chili, sichuan pepper, curry

Rose flower tea with fingered citron and honey
Effects: Relieves stress and symptoms such as frequent sighing, stomach bloating and discomfort, and bad mood.
Ingredients: Small amount of rose flower, fingered citron and honey
Preparation: Place rose flower and fingered citron into thermos, rinse with hot water once. Then add in hot water again and steep for 5 minutes. After the water cools down slightly, add honey and mix well. You can re-brew for 3-4 times until its flavor weakens. For best results, drink consecutively for 3 days a week.
