寒露到了!

來到第一個用「寒」字來命名的節氣了,不知不覺已到深秋,有說「寒露百草枯」,意思是大地的花草都枯萎凋謝,天氣漸漸變得乾燥,人體津液蒸發速度快,很容易出現皮膚乾、痕癢、皺紋增多的情況,飲食原則以養陰防燥為主,不妨適量進食百合、沙參、玉竹、石斛等滋陰食物,水果可以選擇雪梨、無花果、杮子、甘蔗、桑椹等。
秋高氣爽的好時節,可利用這個宜人氣候多進行戶外活動,多接觸日光,既可補充日益減少的陽氣,又可減少「秋愁」的影響,避免因為秋天的肅瑟而令人情緒低落。

Cold Dew Solar Term
It is the first solar term with the word ‘cold’ in it. Autumn is already here and cold dew can wither plants. The humidity will decrease and body fluid will evaporate quickly. This can cause dry skin, itchy and increase of wrinkles. It is suitable to have foods that can nourish yin and prevent dryness. You can appropriately consume ingredients that can nourish yin such as lily bulb, glehnia root, radix ophiopogonis, dendrobium, and fruits such as pear, fig, persimmon, sugar cane, mulberries.
It is better enjoy outdoor activities in this good weather. Additional exposure to sunlight can replenish the decreasing yang qi, and also reduce the impact of the “autumn sadness” and avoid the depression due to the weather.

Gentle reminders:
– dusk rice water has black sesame that can help to nourish yin and replenish kidneys 
– slowly add to your layers and allow your body to adjust to the temperature change 
– staying up late hurts yin so try to sleep earlier in the fall
