腹瀉大不同
腹瀉指排便次數增多,大便稀爛不成形,甚至出現水瀉的狀況,或有伴隨腹痛。腹瀉也有分急性或慢性。急性腹瀉多因為風寒感冒(伴隨惡寒、腹痛、嘔吐、水瀉等)、食滯(伴隨腹痛、大便異常臭、多胃氣、瀉後或嘔吐後症狀稍紓等)、濕熱(伴隨腹痛、肛門灼熱、口渴等)引起;慢性腹瀉多因為脾胃虛弱(胃口差、消化力弱、神疲乏力、面色偏黃)、陽虛(凌晨時分腹瀉、怕冷、手腳冰冷等),所以飲食調護上也要配合症狀。

風寒型腹瀉:
宜適量食用驅寒暖胃的食物,不宜食用屬性寒涼生冷、滋補油膩的食物如:
適量食-薑茶、炒米水等
不適宜食-香蕉、梨、蜂蜜、西瓜、苦瓜、青瓜、大部分海鮮等。

食滯型腹瀉:
宜適量食用有助消化、行氣導滯的食物,不宜食用肉類、煎炸油膩、溫補、滋膩的食物如:
適量食- 山楂、菠蘿、白蘿蔔、麥芽、穀芽
不適宜食-魚類、肉類、蛋、乳製品、酒、補益食材等

濕熱型腹瀉:
宜適量食用清熱祛濕的食物,不宜食用屬性偏熱、溫補、辛辣的食物如:
適量食- 米水、荷葉、苦瓜、西瓜、綠茶、士多啤梨、薏米、菊花等
不適宜食- 酒、辣椒、咖哩、糯米、肉桂、羊肉、鵝肉、雞肉、蜂蜜、補益食材等

脾虛型腹瀉:
宜適量食用益氣健脾的食物,不宜食用屬性寒涼生冷、行血、破氣的食物如:
適量食- 米水、白米、淮山、扁豆、蓮子、栗子、人參、黨參等
不適宜食-香蕉、白蘿蔔、山楂、梨、西瓜、苦瓜、松子仁、乳製品、蜂蜜、螃蟹等

陽虛型腹瀉:
宜適量食用辛熱溫腎的食物,不宜食用屬性寒涼生冷的食物如:
適量食- 薑、肉桂、荔枝、栗子、淮山、羊肉、人參等
不適宜食-香蕉、西瓜、苦瓜、蜂蜜、茄子、大部分海鮮、鴨肉等

Different Types of Diarrhea
Diarrhea refers to increase in bowel movement frequency that is loose or even watery in texture, and it may be accompanied by abdominal pain. Diarrhea is either acute or chronic. Acute diarrhea is mostly caused by cold-wind flu (usually accompanied by a bad cold, abdominal pain, vomiting, watery diarrhea, etc.), indigestion (usually accompanied by abdominal pain, abnormally smelly stool, increased abdominal gas, usually improves after having diarrhea or vomiting), damp heat (usually accompanied by abdominal pain, anal burning sensation, thirst). Chronic diarrhea is mostly caused by asthenic weak spleen and stomach (lack of appetite, weak digestion, fatigue, yellowish complexion), yang deficiency (diarrhea in the early morning, chills, cold limbs). Therefore, your diet plans should be adjusted based on your symptoms.

Cold-wind related diarrhea-
Appropriately consume food that dispels cold and warms the stomach and avoid raw/cold, oily, and tonic food.
Suitable: Ginger tea, fried rice water, etc.
Avoid: Banana, pear, honey, watermelon, bitter gourd, cucumber, seafood, etc.

Indigestion related diarrhea-
Appropriately consume food that improves digestion and promotes qi circulation. Avoid meats, fried, fatty and tonic food.
Suitable: Hawthorn, pineapple, white radish, malt, rice sprouts
Avoid: Fish, meats, eggs, dairy products, wine, and tonic ingredients

Damp heat related diarrhea-
Appropriately consume food that can clear heat and dispel dampness and avoid hot-natured, tonic and spicy food.
Suitable: Rice water, lotus leaf, bitter gourd, watermelon, green tea, strawberry, coix seeds, chrysanthemum
Avoid: Wine, chili pepper, curry, glutinous rice, cinnamon, lamb, goose, chicken, honey, tonic ingredients

Asthenic spleen related diarrhea-
Appropriately consume food that can nourish qi and strengthen the spleen. Avoid cold/raw food and ingredients that promote blood and qi circulation.
Suitable: Rice water, white rice, Chinese yam, hyacinth beans, lotus seeds, chestnuts, ginseng, codonopsis
Avoid: Banana, white radish, hawthorn, pear, watermelon, bitter gourd, pine nuts, dairy products, honey, crab

Yang deficiency related diarrhea-
Appropriately consume hot-natured food that warm the kidney, avoid raw/cold food.
Suitable: Ginger, cinnamon, lychee, chestnut, yam, lamb, ginseng
Avoid: Banana, watermelon, bitter gourd, honey, eggplant, seafood, duck
