Although Chinese hawthorn can improve fat burn and relieve indigestion, sometimes after a cup of Chinese hawthorn tea, I’ll get a stomach ache. Is it damaging to my stomach?

Chinese Hawthorn is warm in nature with a sour taste, and helps to stimulate appetite, aid digestion and lower blood lipids. It is especially effective for those with indigestion from over eating or those with too much gastric acid secretion. If you have too much of it, it can lead to abdominal pain so it best to consume after meal, after eating a lot of meat or when you feel the indigestion. It is important not to have Chinese hawthorn tea before meal or it can be damaging to your stomach! You can also choose the milder malt and rice sprout to make a tea to relieve indigestion!

Fried malt tea with cassia seed
Ingredients: 10g of fried rice sprouts, fried malt, and cassia seeds
Preparation: place all ingredients into tea bag and place into thermos, add in hot water to rinse the tea bag and pour out water. Add in hot water again and steep for 15 minutes.
Effects: Clears heat, aid digestion, relieve constipation. Alleviates stomach bloating and discomfort due to indigestion and constipation.
Note: malt reduces milk supply, and is not recommended for breastfeeding mothers.
