Moxibustion helps dispel cold
Mrs. Lee: “I don’t have time to go for a walk in the sun, and am too busy to exercise. Are there other ways to improve cold aversion body type?”

CheckCheckCin: To improve cold aversion body type, we can consume ingredients that replenish yang and dispel cold. For example, ginseng, Lingzhi, cordyceps, cordyceps flower, maitake mushroom, lamb, ginger, cherry, and peach.

Alternatively, we could also try moxibustion to boost our yang to dispel cold and warm the body. Moxibustion is a type of Chinese acupuncture technique, whereby moxa cones, which are made from Chinese mugwort, are used to burn on the acu points. Doing so can warm the Meridians, improve the circulation of the qi, invigorate the blood, eliminate dampness, and dispel cold from the body.

There are many types of moxibustion products available in the market, and they are suitable for us to use at home. If we were to use moxa sticks, do keep a distance of about 2-3cm away from the body. Remember to move the sticks constantly whenever we feel a heat to avoid burning the skin.

A how-to guide for moxibustion:

1. From the big toe to the inner part of the knees and then the inner calf.  Repeat the process 2-3 times for both legs.
2. From the thumb to the joints of the fingers and then the inner part of the arm. Repeat the process 2-3 times for both arms.
