Over moistening can lead to production of dampness
When it comes to being healthy in the fall, everyone becomes consumed with nourishing yin and moistening the lungs. In Chinese medicine theory, white corresponds to the lungs so a lot of white-colored foods also have ability to moisten the lungs and are suitable to eat during the fall. In addition, fall brings a lot a series of dryness-related symptoms so relieving dryness is important. Trying steeping a cup of water with honey and pear and it’ll be more thirst-quenching than water. It’s also important to remember to nourish the spleen and stomach as it’s an important thing to do during all seasons. If you have asthenic spleen and stomach, any moistening foods you eat won’t be absorbed and could even lead to gathering of dampness. The more you try to replenish, the more tiring you become, and you end up hurting your body without knowing. So give your spleen and stomach a good tune up before you try to nourish your body to ensure all the proper nutrients are being absorbed!
