【動起來擁抱好心情】

常說「做運動身體好」,運動與心理健康都有莫大關係,運動時大腦會分泌出多巴胺(Dopamine),這種快樂激素能帶給人快樂的正向情緒,當工作至腦閉塞或情緒鬱悶時,不妨穿起跑鞋運動一下,問題可能很快就迎刃而解。運動除了帶來即時的愉悅感,長遠對情緒都有好處,有研究指做運動有助提升對壓力和焦慮的恢復能力;運動有助身體調節睡眠,睡眠質素改善心情自然好;而且運動令我們有更完美的體態,有助提升自信。

不過,當情緒低落時哪有心情做運動?以下幾個小貼士,希望能幫你堅持運動的習慣:
- 設定可行的運動目標,循序漸進
- 事前計劃好運動時間表及準備物資,例如上班時帶備運動用品,lunch time 或下班後直接運動去
- 不要與他人比較,包括運動時間、強度、體型等,專注自己的步伐
- 嘗試新的運動模式,讓運動變得更有趣
- 找朋友一起運動,找教練上課或者參加運動課程,有人陪伴感覺更佳
- 接受自己有懶惰的時候,間中可以休息一下
- 拍照記錄自己的運動足跡和體態變化,甚至放上社交平台分享

Exercise to improve your mood

People always say "exercise is good for the body". Exercise has a close relationship with mental wellbeing. When we exercise, our brain will secrete dopamine, which can soothe our emotions and boost our good vibes.

When you encounter stumbling blocks at work or feeling disheartened, try putting on your running shoes and go for a short exercise. You might be able to solve your problem after that. Exercise would give us instantaneous pleasure, and it will benefit our emotional health in the long run. Studies have shown that exercise can help individuals combat anxiety and stress more effectively. Besides, exercise can help regulate our sleep. An improved sleep quality will also make us feel better. Moreover, exercise can improve our body shape, which in turn increase our confidence.

But how can we motivate ourselves to exercise when we are feeling dispirited? Here are a few tips to motivate you to exercise regularly:

- Set feasible targets and adjust from then on
- Set aside a time for exercise and prepare everything you need in advance. For instance, bring sports equipment with you when you head to work, or go exercise directly after lunch or working hours
- Do not compare yourself to others, especially in areas like duration, intensity, and body shape. Focus on your own progress
- Try new ways to spice up your exercise regime
- Exercise with friends. You can also get yourself a trainer or participate in relevant courses. It feels good to have a company to exercise with
- Allow yourself to take a break when you do not feel like exercising
- Take photos to record your journey and the changes of your body shape. You can even share it on your social media

【花茶減壓抗抑鬱】

不想外出,不想見人,心情低落,感覺很累,就如隻角落生物一樣,你最近也有經歷這些情緒困擾嗎?我們的情緒很容易受健康、環境、壓力等影響,例如周末過去遇上Blue Monday、月經前心情煩躁不安、考試沒有達到預期成績等等都會導致心情低落,心理健康的人勇於表達情緒及懂得減壓, 心情很快就好起來。但如果你屬於肝鬱氣滯體質,平日有頭痛、多嘆氣、打嗝或放屁、胃痛、大便不調、失眠等症狀,由於肝的疏泄功能不足就會情緒抑鬱、容易動怒及鬱鬱寡歡,遇上不快事情,情緒困擾便特別嚴重。
當感到抑鬱、充滿負能量時,嘗試喝杯花茶休息一下,花茶一般有疏肝解鬱、寧心安神的作用,還可以按個別需要挑選合適花茶紓緩症狀不適。如果情緒問題持續或嚴重,記得尋求專業協助。

疏肝花茶
功效:疏肝解鬱,紓緩精神壓力及鬱悶心情。
材料:茉莉花、洋甘菊、陳皮各少許、蜂蜜適量

Floral tea to reduce anxiety

Don't feel like going out to meet people, feeling down and tired, and just wanting to hide away from the world? Our health, the environment, and pressure can easily affect our emotions, for instance, Monday blues, feeling anxious before our period, and exam results not meeting our expectations. All these can cause us to feel dejected.

Mentally healthy individuals are good at expressing their emotions and know how to relieve stress. Hence, they could feel better in no time. But if you experience depression in the liver and stagnation of the qi and exhibit symptoms like headache, frequent sighing, burping, flatulence, stomach ache, unable to pass motion regularly, and insomnia, you would become depressed easily, develop a quick temper, and feel downhearted. This is because the liver could not clear its stagnation optimally. These individuals might become even more emotional when they are going through problems.

When feeling depressed, try to drink a cup of floral tea and take a break. Floral tea can soothe the liver, relieve stress, and calm the mind. You can choose specific floral teas to relieve particular discomforts. Should emotional problems persist, remember to seek advice from professionals.

Floral tea to destress
Effects: soothe the liver and relieves stress, relieves mental stress and depression.
Ingredients: small amounts of jasmine, chamomile and dried citrus peel, honey to taste
Preparation: Except honey, put all ingredients into the thermos. Rinse with hot water once. Then add in hot water again and steep for 5 minutes. Add honey to taste when tea is warm.

For those with heat related body condition:
Chrysanthemum- cool in nature, clears the livers and heat, improves vision.
Lavender- cool in nature, clears heat and detoxifies, dispels wind and relieves itchy skin, helps to improve sleep.
Chamomile- cold in nature, calms the mind. It can relieve heat wind flu and rheumatoid arthritis.
Roselle- cold in nature, clears heat and detoxifies, aids digestion, improves skin quality. It is not suitable for pregnant women. It also should not be consumed with an empty stomach.

For those with cold related body condition:
Rose- warm in nature, reduces stress, promotes qi and activates blood. As it can activate blood, it is not suitable for menstruating women.
Jasmine- warm in nature, regulates qi and reduces stress, relieves chest discomfort
Sweet osmanthus- warm in nature, warms the lungs and dispels cold, warms the stomach and relieves pain
Fingered citron- warm in nature, relieves stagnated liver and regulates qi, nourish the stomach and relieves pain

#24節氣 - 立秋】

轉眼來到秋天第一個節氣——立秋,代表暑去涼來,不過夏季的暑氣和濕氣一時未能消除,飲食原則仍以清熱祛濕為主。夏天時難免多吃了生冷食物而損傷脾胃,容易出現無胃口、困倦乏力的感覺,所以雖然踏入立秋,依然要以健脾胃為主,適量食用有健脾胃作用的食材,例如白米、淮山、番薯、扁豆衣等。早餐不妨喝杯暖米水,早起做早操和慢跑,幫助身體順應秋季而適應天氣轉變。

立秋養生重點:「清熱養陰,潤燥止渴」

蘋果:潤肺健胃、生津止渴、消食止瀉
菊花:清肝退火、明目、保健眼睛
無花果:潤肺健脾開胃、潤腸通便、清熱解毒

蘋果菊花無花果茶
功效:清熱滋陰,紓緩目赤口乾、皮膚乾燥、大便乾結等症狀。
材料:蘋果2個、菊花6克、無花果乾3枚、冰糖適量
做法:
1. 所有材料洗淨,蘋果連皮去芯切大塊;無花果乾切半備用。
2. 鍋內加入約1500毫升水,除冰糖外放入所有材料,以武火煮至水滾,調文火煮約40分鐘,最後10分鐘加入冰糖調味即可。
