Soup for those with yin deficiency
Does your skin feel dry during this rainy and humid summer? Aside from skin dryness, you might be always thirsty, have hot palms and feet and have dry and lumpy stool. You may have yin deficiency body condition.To confirm if you have this condition, you may check if you have experienced the following symptoms within the last month?
☐Dry eyes
☐Dry mouth
☐Headache accompanied by dizziness, sore lower back, tinnitus
☐Dull nagging stomach pain
☐Irritable, difficulty falling asleep, even insomnia
☐Flushed cheeks with hot flashes 
☐Night sweats, sweating while sleeping, and it stops when you wake up 
☐Hot palms, feet and chest
☐Prefer cold drinks
☐Yellowish urine
☐Dry and lumpy stool, and even constipation

If you have 0-2 of above symptoms. Your body condition is fine. You can condition your body according to your symptoms.
If you have 3-6 of the above symptoms, you have a typical yin deficiency body condition. You can have more ingredients that can nourish yin and relieve dryness such as pear, snow fungus, lily bulb and American ginseng.
If you have 7-12 of above symptoms, it may be because you always stay up late or prefer spicy foods. You have serious yin deficiency symptoms. Eat more soup and congee that can relieve dryness. Avoid staying up and sleeping late to relieve dryness.

Tips for soup to nourish yin and clear heat:
Appropriately add in ingredients such as American ginseng, pear, dendrobium, dried conch 

Carrot soup with night-blooming cereus, glehnia root and polygonatum root
Effects: nourishes yin and clears heat, relieves dry and hard stool, abdominal discomfort, bad breath, thirst, dry eyes.
Ingredients: 2 dried night-blooming cereus, 1 carrot, 1 corn, 10g radix adenophorae, 20g polygonatum root, 2 candied dates
1. Rinse all ingredients. Peel carrot and cut into pieces. Peel corn, keep silk and cut into pieces. 
2. Combine all ingredients with 2500ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 2 hours. Add salt to taste.
