Soup to dispel dampness and detoxify
Have you noticed that many people have the oily face problem during summer? Some of them may sweat too much and have body odor. People who live in southern or coastal area, with poor living and dietary habits such as staying in air-conditioned room for prolonger periods, drinking cold drinks or eating heavy flavoured food, are prone to damp-heat body type because of above innate and lifestyle conditions. Usually accompanied by symptoms such as difficulty passing stool, loose stool or sticky stool, extra or yellowish vaginal discharge for ladies, body odor, bad breath or acne caused by stronger oil excretion. This soup can clear heat and detoxify, especially beneficial to those with damp-heat body type.
Tips for soup to dispel dampness:
Appropriately add in ingredients such as winter melon, old cucumber, coix seeds, mung beans or corn silk.
Cabbage soup with burdock and carrot
Effect: Clears heat and dispels dampness. It is suitable for those with damp-heat body type. Alleviate symptoms such as difficulty urinating, body odor or bad breath. It can promote bowel movement and burn fat.
Ingredients: 1 burdock, 2 carrots, half of a cabbage, 30g coix seeds, 30g mung beans, 2 candied dates
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Peel burdock and carrot and cut into pieces. Cut cabbage into thin shreds.
2. Combine all ingredients with 2000ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 1 hour. Add salt to taste.
Note it is not suitable for those with frequent urination or nocturia.
