1. 把所有材料洗淨,牛鰍魚劏乾淨;節瓜去皮切大塊;鮮淮山去皮切大塊。
2. 牛鰍魚以熱油加薑煎至兩面微黃,放入魚湯袋備用。
3. 鍋中加入約2000毫升水,放入全部材料,以武火煮至水滾,調文火煮約1.5小時,最後加鹽調味即成。


Fish soup to nourish the baby and strengthen the spleen and stomach
It is important to watch your diet during pregnant and suitable to have mild natured healthy soups. Consider having more fish in your soup as it is nutritious and tasty. Fish used in soup should be smaller in size as larger fish are high in metals and pollutants which are not suitable for pregnant ladies. Coupled with ingredients that strengthen the digestive system and nourish the yin, you can make a great pot of soup for expecting mothers.
Tips to make soup that strengthen the spleen and nourish yin:
Appropriately add in ingredients such as lotus seeds, lily bulbs, wolfberries, black soya beans, snow fungus, walnuts.
Flathead fish soup with hairy gourd and Chinese yam
Effects: Promote fluid production and relieve thirst, strengthen the digestive system and nourish qi
Ingredients: 2 hairy gourd, 1 fresh Chinese yam, 1 flathead fish, 30g black eyed peas, 2 figs, 25g dried mussels, 2 slices of ginger
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Clean flathead fish thoroughly. Peel hairy gourd and Chinese yam and cut into large pieces.
2. Fry flathead with hot oil and ginger until both sides are slightly golden and place into fish bag.
3. Combine all ingredients with 2000ml of water and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 1.5 hour. Add salt to taste.
For vegetarian version: replace flathead fish and mussels with 40g of cashews fried without oil.
