痛經原因知多點
女生每個月總有幾天特別沒精打采,也特別煩燥,因經期時總伴隨各種討厭的不適症狀,如頭痛、失眠、腰痠、暗瘡等等,但痛經肯定是當中最難熬的!從中醫角度來看,痛經又稱「經行腹痛」,女士在月經中或前後出現週期性小腹疼痛難忍的情況,有時甚至會牽連至腰背部,甚至聽說過有人會痛到暈倒!假如只是感到小腹或腰部有輕微脹痛尚屬正常,但每次經期時都有嚴重痛經的話,就絕不能忽視了。痛經其實非必然,是因自身體質引致,若想與它告別,除了調整作息及要配合適當運動外,也可根據體質以食材調理!
以下為常見引致痛經的體質:
氣滯血瘀型
痛經特點:經前一兩天或月經期小腹脹痛,多伴隨乳房脹痛或有血塊
原因:繁重的生活和工作壓力導致情志失調而肝氣鬱結,身體氣血運行不暢,氣滯、血瘀積聚胞宮,引發痛經。
宜進疏肝解鬱:適量進食玫瑰花、益母草、田七、佛手瓜、白蘿蔔、山楂、疏肝悠悠茶、熊貓眼茶療
濕熱型
痛經特點:經前小腹疼痛拒按或伴隨腰痛或平日小腹時有疼痛,月經時疼痛加重
原因:偏愛辛辣、肥甘厚味飲食,聚濕化熱,或是情志失調導致脾虛生濕、肝鬱生熱。濕熱受困胞宮導致氣血不暢,瘀積引發經痛。
宜進食清熱利濕:多吃冬瓜、絲瓜、海帶、赤小豆、蓮藕、朝米水、好熱氣茶療
氣血虛弱型
痛經特點:經後一兩天或經期小腹隱隱作痛、或小腹、陰部感覺空洞下墜,按住腹部可減輕痛楚
原因:平素因氣血不足,月經後氣血更不足,氣虛運行無力,不能推動體內血液流動,引發腹部隱隱作痛。
宜進食補氣養血食材如:人參、黃芪、紅棗、桑寄生、紅豆米水、心情靚靚茶
虛寒型
痛經特點:經期或經後小腹冷痛、按住或暖敷腹部可減輕痛楚,多伴隨腰痠
原因:月經前或期間淋雨或游泳而受寒、飲食生冷、感染風寒,令寒濕之邪入侵體內而引發經痛。
宜進食溫經散寒食材如:肉桂、薑、桂圓、紅糖、炒米水、溫暖笠笠茶
Understanding menstrual pain
Girls can become quite unenergetic and irritable during their period. Menstruation is always accompanied by various unpleasant symptoms such as headache, insomnia, backache, pimples, but menstrual pain is definitely the most uncomfortable! From a Chinese medicine perspective, menstrual pain means ladies have periodic lower abdominal pain that are unbearable before/during/after their menstrual period, sometimes even affecting in the waist and back, some may even lose consciousness! If you only feel a slight pain in the lower abdomen or waistline, it is normal, but if you have serious menstrual pain during each menstrual period, you should pay more attention to it. Menstrual pain is not inevitable. It is caused by your own physical condition. If you want to say goodbye to it, in addition to adjusting your work and rest schedule and do appropriate exercise, you can also eat the proper ingredients according to your body type!
Common body types leading to menstrual pain
Qi stagnation and blood stasis
Characteristics: lower abdominal pain 1-2 days prior to or during menstrual period, always accompanied by breast tenderness or blood clots in discharge
Causes: heavy life and work stress lead to emotional issues that cause liver qi stagnation. The qi and blood circulation are poor, qi stagnation and blood stasis in uterus cause menstrual pain.
Should eat more ingredients that can relieve depression: rose, motherwort, panax notoginseng, chayote, white radish, Chinese hawthorn, herbal tea ‘Destress’, healing tea ‘Dark Circles’
Damp heat
Characteristics: lower abdominal pain and highly sensitive to touch before period / accompanied with backache / lower abdominal pain even when not menstruating, increased pain level during menstruation period
Causes: preference for spicy, oily and fatty foods. Dampness in asthenic spleen and heat in depressed liver caused by dampness stagnation and heat or emotional issues. Dampness is trapped in uterus which leads poor qi and blood circulation causing menstrual pain.
Should eat more ingredients that can clear heat and dispel dampness: winter melon, luffa, seaweed, rice beans, lotus root, dawn rice water, healing tea ‘Very ‘Hot’ (Qi)’
Asthenic qi and blood
Characteristics: lower abdomen dull pain 1-2 days after menstruation or during menstrual period, or sense of lower abdomen and pudendum falling downward, menstrual pain will reduce when pressure is applied
Reason: body type with insufficient blood and qi, the qi and blood weaken during menstrual period. Qi deficiency can not promote blood circulation in the body and cause dull pain in the abdomen.
Should eat ingredients that can replenish qi and nourish blood: ginseng, astralagus, Chinese red dates, Chinese taxillus herb, red bean rice water, healing tea ‘Be Happy’
Asthenic cold
Characteristics: cold pain in the lower abdomen during or after menstrual period, pain will reduce with pressure applied or with warm abdominal compression, usually accompanied with backache
Causes: Catch cold due to raining or swimming before or during menstrual period, consumption of raw/cold food, suffering from cold wind flu, and cold invades body and cause menstrual pain.
Should eat more ingredients that can warm the body and dispel cold: cinnamon, ginger, longan, brown sugar, fried rice water, herbal tea ‘Warming’
